You’re taking it too literally. What I meant was that callback hell was typical in JavaScript usage, and atypical in the use of other languages. Callbacks are so common in JavaScript usage that it has come to be identified with the language. Don’t take my word for it — I’ve lost track of the number of times that JavaScript users have mentioned callbacks and promises as key features in JavaScript programming.
