Yes, the jobs are not there. That’s why I’m advocating for and promoting Smalltalk! This can change.

It’s the classic chicken-or-the-egg scenario. Jobs won’t be there unless people start using Smalltalk, but people won’t start using Smalltalk unless the jobs are there. Every programming language faces this dilemma at first. How do they solve it?

I inquired about WebAssembly at the Pharo forum and got a lukewarm response. However, I believe they will eventually come around. The Pharo project already has their hands full and WASM is a low priority (for now).

In the meantime, you can use (and support) PharoJS, which transpiles to JavaScript. This is a pretty good workaround!
