This side-by-side comparison is missing one key ingredient: Smalltalk’s live coding IDE and runtime which confer upon the language tremendous programmer productivity (typically 2–3X). The reason it’s missing is that JavaScript has nothing to compare to in this regard — it’s an utterly unique quality absent from most other languages, as well. (It’s actually absent from ALL other languages if you consider that Smalltalk’s IDE is graphical and very easy to use.)
