That has NOT been my experience. I was a software engineer for over 20 years (1980-2000), and on and off after that in semi-retirement. I used many different programming languages (assembler, C, FORTRAN, Go, Java, Python, Smalltalk, Tandem TAL, etc.). I've fixed thousands of software bugs.

In my experience, most of the bugs I fixed were not memory-related issues. So while using Rust may prevent an important class of software defects, there will still be many other kinds of bugs that lurk. I am absolutely certain of that.
