REPL is not live coding. And the statement was specifically about PyCharm, not Jupyter.

Jupyter doesn’t have live coding in the same sense as languages like Forth, Lisp, and Smalltalk. These languages incorporate live coding as a fundamental aspect of programming for all applications and domains.

For example, Smalltalk’s live coding is used in back-end and front-end web development, desktop development, IoT, robotics, virtual reality, and so on. Can Jupyter be used everywhere for everything?

Do large corporations use Jupyter to develop their ERP software?

Is Jupyter used to create embedded software?

Is Jupyter used for scripting video games? Or for DevOps scripting?
