Pedagogically speaking, Smalltalk is a much, much better language for beginners, as I explain in this article: https://richardeng.medium.com/as-a-first-programming-language-rust-is-wholly-unsuitable-78833b3f77db.

For simplicity and ease of use, nothing beats Smalltalk. Newbies would love that.

BTW, the number of keywords or reserved words is a good indicator of how complex a programming language is. Dart has 61 reserved words.

Smalltalk has 6 reserved words. In fact, the entire syntax of Smalltalk can be summarized on a post card!
