Okay, I was having some fun at the expense of Dartisans. But there’s more than an element of truth to this piece.
Dart is actually a pretty good language, but for some reason it’s not very widely adopted. As of today (August 24, 2016), it still ranks poorly at all the language indices…it’s #26 at TIOBE, and it doesn’t even register at Redmonk, IEEE Spectrum, CodeEval, HackerRank, and my own Eng Language Index.
Dart is definitely not dead, but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, either. It’s basically treading water.
I am much more sanguine about Go language, the other major Google language. (Note that Google aborted AtScript.)
