Most people in life will not be starting their own business. Most people in life will never have a reason to write a single line of code. Just ask my wife, or my sons and daughters-in-law, or my nephews, all of whom are tech-savvy.
A true literacy is something that everyone needs on a daily basis. Like knowing how to read and write, or doing simple arithmetic. Or even how to use modern technology (not how to program modern technology). My children can use their smartphones and PCs without writing a single line of code.
