Like you, I also believe very much in making programming as easy and productive as possible for humans. That’s why I’m a Smalltalk evangelist.

I also think that languages such as Python and Go are very easy to use; JavaScript is not unique in this respect. But here’s the thing: Smalltalk and Python and Go are demonstrably better and safer languages to use for programming than JavaScript, and they’re all easy to use. Given a choice, why would I choose JavaScript?

In front-end web development, you don’t have a choice (well, actually, you do, but for some reason people choose to ignore transpiled languages). But everywhere else, there are better and safer languages. However easy JavaScript may be, it is not worth putting up with its shit.
