…native wit required to perform competently as a useful programmer, but IMO it ain’t rocket surgery. Competent people can be trained to execute a variety of programming tasks and thereby improve their economic lot in life. JMO.
Like I said, such mundane tasks won’t be around forever. Globalization and automation will kill a lot of these jobs. You’re training these blue-collar programmers into a dead-end career…unless they become good enough to do the real programming jobs such as machine learning, data science, virtual reality, robotics, Internet of Things, systems programming, etc.
I give your blue-collar programmers about a decade before they face another crisis. IMO.
You don’t seem to understand that we’re on the cusp of a major technological shift in how software is being made in our country.
