Last month, I published a story about Latana’s Democracy Perception Index for 2021. A new report has just come out that shows how the Chinese perception of democracy has improved over 2021 — it can be downloaded from here.

China is now perceived to be the most democratic nation in the world. An improvement over last year’s report.

China has the lowest perceived democratic deficit. An improvement over last year’s report.

South Korea and China have the least amount of people who say they don’t have enough democracy. An improvement over last year’s report.

China has the least number of people who believe their government mainly serves the minority. An improvement over last year’s report. USA is still among the worst countries in this respect.

The Chinese government’s response to COVID-19 has been absolutely primo. USA’s response has been downright pathetic.

From Worldometer at the time of writing.

Note the per capita death rates for China and USA…4 and 3,100 deaths per one million population, respectively.

The Prime Directive of all democracies is to serve the people well. China passes the test. The United States does not.

Conclusion: China has a better democracy than the United States does.
