It’s true, Smalltalk does not have much of a track record for developing secure systems. But I’d rather use Smalltalk than JavaScript or PHP or Perl or Python or Ruby any day of the week. I trust Smalltalk a whole lot more.

It might be safer to use Java, C#, or even C++, but these languages are a pain to use.

At least Smalltalk doesn’t have a reputation for unsecure systems. And I believe that with good project management and proper discipline, Smalltalk can be safe and secure.
