I’m missing nothing. Sure, Node has its success stories. So do many other languages, such as Go, Erlang/Elixir, Clojure, Scala, even Java! However, you’re missing the bigger point: Of all the mission-critical enterprise applications that have been built recently, only a tiny fraction can be attributed to Node. The aforementioned languages are still enormously popular in the enterprise. Node and JavaScript doesn’t even come close to dominating this sector of the industry…yet. It may happen, but I’m not putting any money on it.
