I would admonish about following JavaScript into a career path. It’s truly an awful language. Despite what the infographic shows, JavaScript really only dominates in two areas: front-end web development and back-end Node development. Everywhere else, JavaScript cannot compete against better languages, such as Java, Python, C++, C#, C and Ruby. These languages will open doors to many other exciting areas of IT like A.I., robotics, Internet of Things, Big Data, cloud computing, games, Virtual Reality, etc. JavaScript will close those doors. If you must do web development, learn just enough JavaScript to interface with the jQuery library and otherwise ignore this abomination.
