I use Pharo (Smalltalk) for backend and PharoJS for frontend (SPA). Same language.

In fact, there are many languages that can do the same, e.g., Clojure (ClojureScript), Elixir (ElixirScript), Go (GopherJS), Java (JSweet), Python (Transcrypt), Ruby (Opal), etc.
