…ster than an airplane, you will alienate people. Especially since among the “mainstream” languages, JS is perhaps the closest relative to Smalltalk (certainly closer than Python or Objective-C).
forgive me, but please provide empirical studies and metrics for such claims.

I dispute this. For one thing, Objective-C is essentially a cross between C and Smalltalk. If any language can truly claim kinship with Smalltalk, it’s Objective-C.
For another, neither JS nor Python can match the convenience and ease of live coding in Smalltalk.
