I believe it can be useful for many readers, not all readers. If some readers don’t find it useful, that’s fine. They’re not my target audience.
I’m targeting people who may be considering using Python because:
- it’s popular
- it’s heavily used for data science and machine learning, two very hot areas of IT
- it’s easy to learn and it has a readable syntax
For these people, Smalltalk may be a better choice. Smalltalk is much simpler and easier than Python.
Smalltalk also has good support for data science and machine learning.
Smalltalk doesn’t have nearly as many “warts” as Python has. These warts make Python less pleasant to use.
If Smalltalk can make these people happier and more productive, then that’s a win.
