I agree 100 per cent regarding Swift. Swift fans are as deluded as JavaScript fans. Swift is NOT a good teaching language; it is NOT good for beginners.

Swift is a big, complex language that bears a strong resemblance to another big, complex language: Scala.

We don’t need big, complex languages like C++, Rust, Scala, and Swift.

Even IBM is deluded with their initiative to use Swift for server-side cloud apps.

The Swift user community needs to stop drinking the damn Kool-Aid!

I also agree about Objective-C. This language is simply an amalgam of C and Smalltalk, each of which is a very simple language. While the syntax of Objective-C does look rather odd, it doesn’t deserve so much hate. At least it’s easier to learn than Swift.
