I agree 100 per cent! I see absolutely no reason why I should complicate my web application development with all of this client-side junk. I write lots of “classical” server-based web apps and they are not slow; they perform very well, thank you very much. And it’s really easy, too, with platforms like Python/web2py and Go/Beego, both of which are solid frameworks with staying power.

Absolutely right! With the Angular 1 vs 2 civil war, and React coming out of nowhere to capture the attention of “magpie” developers, I fear committing myself to any of these frameworks. There are more frameworks than you can shake a fist at, and this further complicates client-side web development.
