FORTRAN, LISP, and COBOL, three of the oldest languages, are still major programming languages, even if they are largely ignored today. Ditto for BASIC (Visual Basic notwithstanding) and Pascal (Delphi notwithstanding).
Ada is a major programming language, too. It was quite big in the 1980s.
In the pantheon of programming languages, Mathematica is a relative nobody.
